DOT & SAE
　　FMVSS approval is known as DOT or SAE approval; manufacturers can choose the testing laboratories themselves and test the products according to the relevant SAE or ASTM standards of FMVSS.

　　AMECA(Automotive Manufacturers Equipment Compliance Agency) was merged by AAMVA (American Association of Motor Vehicle Administrators) in the end of 1994. Every state in the federal united state all has the right to establish the relevant regulations, but the law of federal government normally is prior than the state government.
　　Each state also has its own frame of legislation and practicing ways, therefore, AMECA is in charge of integrating the approval procedures between each state in America and in Canada.
